WINDOW TINTING IN CALIFORNIA
Window tint darkness is measured by the percent of light that passes though your windows, which is called VLT —( VISIBLE LIGHT TRANSMISSION).
In California, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window glass.
WINDSHIELD: NON-REFLECTIVE TINT IS ALLOWED ON THE TOP 4 INCHES OF THE WINDSHIELD.
FRONT SIDE WINDOWS: MUST ALLOW MORE THAN 70% OF LIGHT IN.
BACK SIDE WINDOWS: ANY DARKNESS CAN BE USED.
REAR WINDOW: ANY DARKNESS CAN BE USED.

YOUR WINDOW TINT DARKNESS DOESN’T HAVE TO BE UNDER 70% TO BE EFFECTIVE. EVEN IF YOUR TINT FILM ALLOWS 70% OR 5% OF LIGHT IT CAN STILL HAVE A HUGE IMPACT ON YOUR DRIVING. IT CAN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE GLARE FROM THE SUN AND PROTECT YOU FROM HARMFUL UV RAYS
